May 2011

Starting from: £99 + VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

This timely seminar brought together key stakeholders to discuss the future of early years education, the curriculum and pupil assessment in primary schools - as all three areas came under review by Government.
Policymakers, education professionals and other interested parties considered next steps for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including the minimum standards for children's development by age 5, the role of regulation and assessment, and the content included in the EYFS. Participants also discussed the future shape of the primary curriculum as the Government consulted key stakeholders on its make-up, as well as the transition from early years to primary, concepts of cross-curricular teaching and the core aims of primary education. The role of assessment in Key Stages 1 and 2 was also examined, with particular consideration given to the relationship between the curriculum and SATs.
