This conference examined the future of digital competition and growth in the UK, as well as next steps following the publication of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill.

It was an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss:

  • the ongoing work and research undertaken by the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum
  • government priorities for the future of the digital sector, including the regulatory frameworks required to enable increased competition and growth for new entrants, including the establishment and proposed role of the Digital Markets Unit
  • what is needed to support R&D and innovation within the UK

The conference also took place in the context of the Government’s response to their pro-competition regime for digital markets consultation. Delegates discussed the outlook for innovation, competition and bolstering digital markets in the UK going forward.
