This conference will examine priorities for the Government’s forthcoming 10 year Health Plan for the NHS.
As the Government considers responses to its public consultation on the future of the NHS, and ahead of the second phase of the Treasury’s June Spending Review, the conference will be an opportunity for key stakeholders and policymakers to discuss priorities and practicalities for the proposed evolution of the NHS into a community-based, technologically adroit, and preventive health system.
Delegates will discuss the proposed reinforcement of community and primary care services, and the integration of local health services. They will consider priorities for this shift, the mechanics of integrating healthcare functions, and implications for preventive health strategies going forward.
Sessions also include a focus on digital transformation in the NHS, such as the simplification of patient medical records using the NHS app, strategies to ensure that technological changes bring about maximum productivity increases for the NHS.
The agenda will also look at priorities for the proposed transition from sickness to prevention in health policy, considering how community-based care and technological innovation can be harnessed to predict and prevent illness, and to institutionalise long-term thinking in health policy.
